Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Banning State Park

Then we got to visit Banning State Park and hike along the Kettle River that looks like root-beer because of the minerals in the water.

Here we are starting for the river...and having a little fun. :)

Can you tell what we're eating???

One of the most interesting things about the kettle river are all the holes in the solid rock that are everywhere and every size and shape along the river's banks.

And of course we had to explore them. :)

With a boost, the boys climbed up inside this one that was in an overhang along the path.

Look at the legs!!! The mountain is eating them. :) While those of us who are wiser smile from below.

Our lovely camera lady reminiscing...Mama was here when she was younger. :)

The boys...they look like their planning something...what?

Daddy climbing the "stairs" that the water carved out of the rock. All the rock shapes are curved and smooth. We had some great conversations about the flood and how the river would have been far higher before and then when the waters receded, carved the bed it runs in now; leaving behind the fantistic shapes and holes. Its amazing what water can do!
