All four boys are in our local youth orchestra this year.  Last night they performed  at a gala celebrating SEMYO's 30th anniversary.  Sam played Viola in the Chamber Strings group, Ben and Garrison played violin and cello respectively in the Philharmonic Orchestra, and Charlie played oboe in the Concert Orchestra.

We watched the sun's setting slowly shroud the depths, gashes, and pinnacles in shadow. From this point, we could also see the Colorado River. The Canyon is about a mile deep, so even though we could see some class eight rapids, they didn't look like much. Our destination: Kansas City, Missouri and the home of our good friends, the Balzers.Mrs Balzer had a bountiful and delicious dinner of home cooked food ready when we arrived. We had our first taste of Moose and loved it!!! Here we are setting up. The day was beautiful! It was around 70 degrees all day! We were so thankful...its not very often you get a day like that in November!Its a very serious business... He is a maturing into a young man now, but he still has those dimples that peek out when he smiles (which is a regular event).
